MIRABELLO PROSECCO BRUT

Our favorite everyday prosecco is finally back!!!!  Aromas of nut and yellow apple skin follow over to the lean palate along with brisk acidity. It’s vigorous, with steely bubbles.  (review by Wine Enthusiast’s Kerin O’Keefe)

TATOMER “HINTER de MAUER” – CENTRAL COAST – 2019

“Hinter de Mauer” is a local term from the town of Loiben Austria where Graham Tatomer worked at Weingut Knoll. It is the space on a terraced vineyard between a row of vines and the wall on the next level. A tricky place to work, but it produces exceptional fruit. Sometimes the juice is worth the extra squeeze.

91 points from Wine Enthusiast: This unique, twist-top blend of 80% grüner veltliner and 20% riesling is Graham Tatomer’s white table wine, and it begins with aromas of dried lime peels and rocky seashore. The palate also shows dried lime and orange peels, as well as unique flashes of white pepper and thyme.

ELEKTRISCH RIESLING KABINETT – RHEINHESSEN – 2020

“Elektrisch” translates to, yup you guessed it, electric – and that’s how we like our kabinetts — which is to say, lighter, more delicate, less sweet and more acid-driven than a lot of the kabinetts on the market. The “Elektrisch” is made by Florian Fauth of Weingut Seehof and is mostly (about 70%) sourced from the estates’ holdings. Most of the fruit comes from the Aulerde, one of the Grand Cru sites of Westhofen. Roughly 30% of the fruit is not “sourced” in the generic and dirty-sounding way that word is often used, but rather bought from Florian’s good friends in the village. It is electric with vivid and mouth watering granny smith apple and citrus and a live-wire of minerality and acidity nearly pulsating through it. This is not only a true kabinett, it is an “electric kabinett.”

MILTON PARK SHIRAZ – SOUTH AUSTRALIA – 2018

Milton Park is home to the Thorn-Clarke winery in South Australia, owned and operated by the Clarke family with six generations of grape growing and winemaking heritage.  The Milton Park range of wines is made from grapes sourced from estate vineyards and other select vineyard sites in South Australia, allowing consistent quality year to year.  The nose of Milton Park’s Shiraz is full of berry fruits, with hints of dark chocolate and spice.  The palate is medium bodied with intense, plummy fruit.  This plummy fruit fills the whole palate and combined with the soft and approachable tannins creates a very mouth-filling wine.  The length of flavor is long with plum and licorice fruit and spicy oak.
