Luis Agustin Cetto offers this wine from his vineyards in the Guadalupe Valley.  Luis Cetto carries on a long tradition of fine winemaking and brought worldwine recognition to Baja California for his excellent wines.  Expect aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, like pineapple and melon, with vanilla and butter notes from this delightful chardonnay.  The palate is velvety and unctuous, with tropical fruit notes and the complex aromas of wood.
Winemaker Darinko Ribolica has handcrafted only 1,200 cases of this limited release Bordeaux-style blend of cabernet Franc (40%), cabernet sauvignon (30%), and merlot (30%) from fruit selected from the best blocks of the estates vineyards.  The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak.  

GARZÓN  TANNAT  RESERVA, 2019

Uruguay’s signature grape, tannat, is used for this juicy, full-bodied wine.  It’s a rich purple in color with very fresh aromas reminiscent of red and black fruits such as plums and raspberries, with a delicate spicy nose.  In the mouth, it presents a strong personality.  Its mature tannins and minerality transform it into a wine with great soil identity.  Roasted game meats are the ideal pairing for this Ttannat.  The most traditional combination is slowly cooked leg of lamb flavored with sage, mint, garlic and olive oil.  It also pairs beautifully with blue cheese and toasted walnuts.

91 points from JAMES SUCKLING:  A full-bodied red with aromas of black cherries, blackcurrants, violets and black licorice.  Tannic and chewy with a firm core of dark fruit.  Try from 2023.

90 points from WINE ENTHUSIAST:  A ruby color and spicy plum and berry aromas open this medium-bodied tannat, with briny hints of ocean air and seashell chiming in.  Lightly herbal flavors of plum and cassis are ever so slightly green, while this is smacking and intense on a juicy finish.
